Question: I’m confused by the Usage Restrictions clause in the license agreement. Can you explain this in layman’s terms?

Answer: The license allows you to use our software to analyze websites that you have or are developing. If you have a customer for whom you regularly maintain their website then we expect that you will use our software to improve the quality of the service you are delivering. However, if you intend simply to use our software to analyze sites, and provide the results to that site’s administration as a standalone service, then this would violate the license agreement. This is true even if you don’t charge for the service.

Basically, we don’t mind you using our software to support your web development/maintenance business, but we don’t want our software to be the basis for a service operation. If you are still in doubt then send us an email and we’ll be happy to clarify this issue further.
