Question: How can I track multiple subdomains in a single Backlink Monitor project? For example, I wish to track backlinks to the following subdomains:

Answer: By default, Backlink Monitor will only detect backlinks that point to the same domain as the Root URL in your project. If you need to track multiple subdomains there are two ways you can configure Backlink Monitor depending on your goals.

If you want Backlink Monitor to treat all the subdomains as if they were the same site, then you’ll want to add your subdomains to the list of “Domain Aliases” in Advanced Project Settings. This will tell Backlink Monitor to build the backlink hierarchy with a single domain root.

If you want Backlink Monitor to treat the subdomains as different sites, you’ll want to add your subdomains as “Additional Root URLs” in Advanced Project Settings. Remember to include the “http://” prefix on your subdomain entries in the Domain Aliases list. This will tell Backlink Monitor to treat links to these pages as separate roots, and you will end up with multiple roots in the backlink hierarchy.

If you have a large list of subdomains you can Copy and Paste entries directly into both the Domain Alias and Root URL list (right click on the list area).
