Question: What are backlinks? How is this different than regular link checking?
Answer: Backlinks are links from other websites that point towards yours. The regular links that exist on your website are sometimes called “forward links”. You can check these forward links with any standard website link checking (including our InSite product).
Backlinks are from 3rd party sites that link into your website. Backlink Monitor is designed to go out to these 3rd party sites and verify that your backlinks are working, as well as provide some statistics about them.
