Question: Can using Rank Reporter get my IP permanently banned from Google or any other search engine?

Answer: It is not possible to become permanently blocked, though it is possible to receive a temporary restriction.

By default, Rank Reporter is configured to limit the rate at which queries are sent out to each search engine. This is done to prevent the search engine from temporarily blocking your IP address. If you reduce the “Keyword Interval” and “Result Page Interval” values in Rank Reporter than you may become temporarily blocked by some search engines. This will not affect your search engine ranking.

If your IP address does receive a temporarily block it is typically removed within a few minutes. If you find you have been temporarily blocked, try increasing the “Keyword Interval” and “Result Page Interval” delays in Rank Reporter.
